I had the opportunity to create the face of Vassily for the new Ghost Recon Wildlands trailer, you can see him at the end of the video :-)
Based on a scan, I had to "redesign" him on ZBrush ( 3d scan is a good start, but dont hesitate to redo some parts like the eyes, the overall shape, the expression ... ), Texturing on Mari ( also scan-based, but improved a lot ), Lookdev on V-Ray, Hair & Fur with Ornatrix.
First time I work on realistic characters with a ACES color encoding pipeline, and I think it is a big improvement for specular and lighting, it give me consistence between different hdr lighting, and no more strange saturated colors in the highlights.
I did all my masking textures for grooming in RGB instead of greyscale, so with one texture I can include 3 masks, great for optimisation.
